Olivia's arrival!

Saturday October 26th!

Saturday Oct. 26th we headed back to Walnut Creek for more prego pizza in hopes to get things started!!
Well this time it worked!  Around 6:30 I started having strong contractions (stronger then the previous day which were all day but not too painful maybe a 2).  One of the contractions cause slight water breakage it turns out...
So we called the doctor around 8 and she said head to the hospital!!
Arrived at hospital at 8:30-
I was a little worried we would be sent home to labor more but I had broken water so we were able to stay!

Labor details:
The IV being installed for those who know my fear was very difficult but I made it through
(might have almost passed out)...
I was about 3 cm coming in- around 11:30 I received the epidural and was very surprised at the weird sensation of not being able to control your legs.

5:30 am- 4-5 cm and 95% effaced (off and on oxygen for Livy)
6:30 am 5-6 cm
I progressed pretty good without pitocin but was given some around this time to speed things up...
10:30 am- 9 cm pitocin up a bit
contractions starting to hurt pain scale 3 or 4 with epidural (bless the people's hearts with no meds)
had a epidural top off around 11:40!

John was so supportive!  He didn't eat the entire time :(, kept track of all updates and really kept me calm while I was freaking out about the IV and the loss of feeling in my legs!

Intense part:
For around 4 hours I was stalled out at 9 and 3/4 dilated... I had a small lip of cervix that wouldn't go away.
This really had them thinking c-section and they were warning me this route might be taken soon.
Our nurse Crissy (same name hilarious) checked to see if there was an issue of Olivia's head fitting through the pelvic opening which can only be determined right there in the last minute.
Crissy thought too close to call...
called nurse #2- too close to call...
called Dr. Vogel- during contraction cervix lip disapears and too close to call for fitting through the bone...
"Let's try to Push"
me- "NOW????"
"Yes next contraction hands behind legs and pushing 3 times 10 sec each and here we go..."
So I push and boom... she is crowning and almost here
20 minutes later Olivia has arrived!!!
8 lb 8 oz. at 1:30!

The nurses think she looks like John's twin!
We love her so so much!

8 lb. 8 oz!!  21 inches!

Our nurse Crissy on the left and Dr. Vogel on the right!!

Grammy meeting Olivia!

The room!
This is where we were the whole time, birthing and everything!
This hospital doesn't have a nursery so sweet Olivia got to stay with us the whole time!!

heading home!

Rufus meet the baby time lasted about an hour or so!!  He was SO excited (surprisingly)!!

Prego Pizza

Sunday for lunch we head to Walnut Creek to have Prego Pizza in hopes it will bring on labor!

Here I am before pizza... ready to get this show on the road!
Good thing there is sawdust on the floor in case my water breaks haha!!

It was very delicious!!

tried to get my belly and pizza in the pic... not too difficult to do...

Then a walk (come on Olivia) and dessert to finish the party!!
CREAM is John's life motto I believe...
Cookies Rule Everything Around Me!!!!
All natural makes them totally healthy right???
John was ecstatic to have 2 warm peanut butter cookies with cookies and cream ice cream in between!!!

I chose oatmeal raisin with mint chocolate chip! YUM YUM!!!

False alarm and 39 weeks

39 weeks
~still 1 cm dilated

False Alarm-  10.12.13
Last Saturday I woke up at 2:30 in the morning with a contraction... I didn't think much of it but they kept coming every 5 minutes and lasting 1 minute each.  After an hour I woke John up with the news and waiting for another hour of the same situation we decided to head to the hospital.
We had been told to go if 5-1-1 was occurring
(contractions every 5 minutes, 1 minute long, for an hour)...
We arrived around 5 and knew deep down we will be sent home and it is probably silly we came.
The contractions kept coming steady but they weren't strong enough and I was only dilated 1 cm-
we were sent home being told come in if your water breaks, or the contractions hurt so bad you can barely walk!!  (OMG this picture is terrible)

In the mean time...
We are all anxiously waiting!!

I was so excited to finally get a milk with that expiration after her due date!!

We are getting close and getting ready!!!!
I finally put the sheet on the crib since it could be any day now!
It was so much fun to make her bedding!!!

She is all set with tons of books!!  (a lot are from my Kindergarten teaching days)

Momaroo ready...

Olivia's baby book ready!!!

Katy and I found this painting when we were on our Hwy 1 trip and fell in love with it!!

Car seat cover ready!!!
It is weird sewing for our baby this time around!!!

And Rufus and I are getting some rest waiting for Olivia to get here!!!

38 weeks!

38 week appointment went great!  We are 1 cm dilated!
John has been able to come to all the appointments and we have a tradition
of getting a Jamba Juice afterwards (my substitution for happy hour)!!

We have a cute pumpkin patch near the house so I decided to go check it out
with my friend Sarah and her baby Benjamin to get some festive pics!!

Here is Olivia's little nursery!  We are ready for her to get here!!

so is Rufus... we hope :)
