Olivia's arrival!

Saturday October 26th!

Saturday Oct. 26th we headed back to Walnut Creek for more prego pizza in hopes to get things started!!
Well this time it worked!  Around 6:30 I started having strong contractions (stronger then the previous day which were all day but not too painful maybe a 2).  One of the contractions cause slight water breakage it turns out...
So we called the doctor around 8 and she said head to the hospital!!
Arrived at hospital at 8:30-
I was a little worried we would be sent home to labor more but I had broken water so we were able to stay!

Labor details:
The IV being installed for those who know my fear was very difficult but I made it through
(might have almost passed out)...
I was about 3 cm coming in- around 11:30 I received the epidural and was very surprised at the weird sensation of not being able to control your legs.

5:30 am- 4-5 cm and 95% effaced (off and on oxygen for Livy)
6:30 am 5-6 cm
I progressed pretty good without pitocin but was given some around this time to speed things up...
10:30 am- 9 cm pitocin up a bit
contractions starting to hurt pain scale 3 or 4 with epidural (bless the people's hearts with no meds)
had a epidural top off around 11:40!

John was so supportive!  He didn't eat the entire time :(, kept track of all updates and really kept me calm while I was freaking out about the IV and the loss of feeling in my legs!

Intense part:
For around 4 hours I was stalled out at 9 and 3/4 dilated... I had a small lip of cervix that wouldn't go away.
This really had them thinking c-section and they were warning me this route might be taken soon.
Our nurse Crissy (same name hilarious) checked to see if there was an issue of Olivia's head fitting through the pelvic opening which can only be determined right there in the last minute.
Crissy thought too close to call...
called nurse #2- too close to call...
called Dr. Vogel- during contraction cervix lip disapears and too close to call for fitting through the bone...
"Let's try to Push"
me- "NOW????"
"Yes next contraction hands behind legs and pushing 3 times 10 sec each and here we go..."
So I push and boom... she is crowning and almost here
20 minutes later Olivia has arrived!!!
8 lb 8 oz. at 1:30!

The nurses think she looks like John's twin!
We love her so so much!

8 lb. 8 oz!!  21 inches!
